Who We Are

Little League®is an international pastime that has been a fabric of societies throughout the world for 75 years. Since its founding in 1939 by Carl Stotz, Little League has instilled leadership, character, courage and loyalty in all that participate, including the nearly 1.5 million adult volunteers. Little League can be found in more than 80 countries worldwide with more than 2.4 million children participating each year. Little League has celebrated many milestones due to the dedication of its players, parents and volunteers. Below are just a few examples …

  • The Legacy Begins: First Little League Game is played on June 6, 1939
  • Another First: First Little League Baseball® World Series is played in August 1947
  • International Expansion: Canada becomes the first international team to charter in 1951
  • Outgrowing Original Field: Howard J. Lamade Stadium was built in 1959 to support the growing popularity of Little League
  • Federal Charter: Little League receives its Federal Charter in 1964
  • Expansion Outside of Baseball: Little League Softball is founded in 1974
  • Dugout: Walt Disney Co. creates Dugout the Mascot in 1985
  • Challenger:  The Little League Challenger Division is established in 1989
  • Urban Initiative: The Urban Initiative Program is established in 1999
  • The World Series Expands Again: Volunteer Stadium is built in 2001 to allow for a 16 team tournament

        Little League Intermediate (50/70) Baseball Division: The Little League Intermediate (50/70) Baseball Division is created in 2012 creating nine divisions of play

2023/24 Little League Board Members

President:                  Erick Winger                                                     
Presides at league meetings, and assumes full responsibility for the operation of the local league.
Receives all communications from Little League International, and acts as the contact between the local league and Little League International.
Must keep all league personnel properly briefed on all phases of rules, regulations, and policies handed down by Little League International.

Vice President             Amy Cabre
Presides in the absence of the President.
Works with other board and committee members. 
Is the ex-officio member of all committees and carries out duties and assignments as delegated by the President.

Secretary:                   Kelly Powers                                                                      
Maintains a register of members and directors.
Records minutes of meetings.
Responsible for sending out notices of meetings and maintains a record of the league’s activities.  
                                                        

Treasurer:                  Promise Sandlin                                                    
Signs checks co-signed by the President or another authorized officer.
Dispenses leagues funds as approved by the board of directors.
Keeps local league books and financial records and reports on the status of league funds
Prepares budgets as approved by the board and assumes responsibility for all local league finances.

Umpire In Charge (UIC):          Mike Peters                                                                         
Provides Umpire Training.
Schedules Umpires.
Member of Protest Committee.

Equipment Manager:                                                                
Responsible for inventorying, selecting, ordering, and purchasing all new player equipment, safety or other equipment needed by the league.
Serve as the contact person regarding the disbursement and collection of non consumable equipment.

Manage distribution and collection of all equipment for the League.
Manage and operate within the Equipment Budget as authorized by the Board.
Additionally, serves as Primary Point of Contact for all online registration issues / concerns.  

Fundraising: Amy Cabre / Ana Maria Valencia  
Solicits and secures local sponsorships to support league operations.
Collects and reviews sponsorship and fundraising opportunities.
Coordinates participation and implementation of fundraising activities.
                                                        

Player Agent: Doug Thule   
Conducts annuals tryouts and is in charge of player selection (draft).
Checks birth records and residency eligibility of players.
Serves as a member of the Board of Directors.
Supervises and coordinates the transfer of players to or from the minors leagues according to the provisions and regulations of Little League.

                                                            

Safety Officer: Ana Maria Valencia
Coordinates all safety activities.
Ensures safety in player training and safe playing conditions.
Coordinates reporting and prevention of injuries for the local league.
Prepares the annual ASAP plan for submission to Little League International.  
 

Information Officer:    Kelly Powers
Manages the league's official website. 
Manages the league's official Facebook page.
Creates and distributes PR fliers.

Concessions:  Promise Sandlin / Jess Lucero
Maintains the operation of concession facilities.
Organizes the purchase of concession products.
Responsible for the management of the concession sales at league events.
Schedules volunteers to work the concession booth during league events.
Collects and reviews concession related offers including coupons, discounts and bulk-purchasing opportunities.
Organizes, tallies and keeps records of concession sales and purchases.
